Overview
Connectivity Point has partnered with this multi-location law firm for their cabling and paging service needs since 2022. For this project, the client had a limited timeframe to demolish and renovate a recently vacated 15,000 s.f. office space in Portland, Maine.
Network Cabling
Following a project planning meeting, CPDI was brought in the following week to complete the network cabling demolition in preparation for the renovation. Just two weeks later, CPDI returned to the site to supply, install, and terminate more than 150 Cat6E voice, data, AV, and security camera cable runs, helping keep the project on schedule and ensuring the new office infrastructure was ready for deployment.
Sound Masking
During the discovery phase, CPDI recommended implementing a sound masking system to address privacy concerns. The client elected to occupy the space first and evaluate the need before proceeding. Once operations began, the client quickly confirmed that a sound masking solution was needed in the offices, meeting rooms, workstations, and adjacent common areas.
CPDI provided all materials, labor, programming, and installation for a comprehensive sound masking system including:
- 1 Biamp QTX600 Sound Masking Controller
- 27 active sound masking emitters strategically installed throughout the waiting room and corridors
- 52 passive sound masking emitters installed throughout the offices, conference rooms, and finance area
- 1 in-room volume control in each conference room, allowing occupants to mute the sound masking system during video conferencing calls while maintaining optimal speech privacy throughout the facility
Audio/Visual
Following the cabling and sound masking system installations, the client’s IT director called on CPDI to supply two (2) Logitech Meetup kits for self-installation.
Results
The project was a successful collaboration between CPDI and the client, delivering results that met both schedule and performance expectations. The CPDI team completed the project in time for the client’s planned move-in, ensuring a seamless transition into their new space. After occupancy, CPDI partnered with the client to resolve speech privacy concerns by implementing a customized sound masking system, creating a more comfortable and productive work environment. By delivering both on-time project completion and an effective acoustic solution, we exceeded the client’s expectations and reinforced our commitment to providing long-term value.
